Gradually the year is coming to an end, temperatures are dropping, trees are becoming balder and the sky greyer. But that's no reason to hide inside, because November has the right programme for everyone. The month begins with cool jazz and delicious cheese, wraps itself in magical light, asks clever questions and then ends with the magic of the Christmas markets.

Tip 1: Jazzfest Berlin

The Jazzfest Berlin is one of the most important events of contemporary jazz. At the Haus der Berliner Festspiele and other venues, numerous international artists perform on stage. As a prelude, the Haus der Berliner Festspiele is transformed into the Haus of Jazz with a seven-hour program on five stages.

Tip 2: Berlin Fairy Tale Days

"The golden thread of fate" - this is the motto of the 29th Berlin Fairy Tale Days, dedicated to fairy tales and stories of power and impotence. Libraries, bookstores, schools, theatres and embassies open their doors on these days and invite to readings and performances.

Tip 3: Christmas Garden

The Christmas Garden transforms the Botanical Garden into an enchanted place after dusk. Light installations conjure up a magical atmosphere, illuminations and sparkling stagings in all colours create a true winter wonderland.

Tip 4: Jewish Cultural Days

Die Synagoge Rykestraße befindet sich in der Rykestraße 53 im Berliner Ortsteil Prenzlauer Berg im sogenannten Kollwitzkiez. Seit ihrer Wiedereinweihung 1953 ist sie mit dem 2000 Plätze fassenden Betraum die größte Synagoge Deutschlands.

"Shalom Berlin" is the motto of the Jewish Cultural Days. Concerts, readings and theatre show the breadth of Jewish life in Berlin. The festival begins with a concert by the a cappella band Y-Studs from New York. The programme is rounded off with Balagan Day, the Open Day in the Jewish Community Hall in Fasanenstrasse, and a party night in the club "The Pearl".

Tip 5: Bazaar Berlin

Already looking for Christmas presents? Then you've come to the right place at the Bazaar Berlin. Over 500 exhibitors from 60 countries present their original products at the international sales fair for arts and crafts, design, natural products and fair trade. From drums from Africa to fine jewellery, Indian scarves and the most beautiful Christmas decorations, the range extends.

Tip 6: Cheese Berlin

Probably the tastiest tip for November: Cheese Berlin. Cheesemakers will be serving their delicacies in the Markthalle Neun on Sunday, inviting you to try and buy. During the Cheese Night on Friday, the cheesemakers offer menus and special dishes in various restaurants - all made of cheese, of course.

Tip 7: interfilm - Internationales Kurzfilmfestival Berlin

November invites you to watch films: More precisely, 600 short films from 140 countries. The exciting, creative and surprising films of different genres at interfilm film festival all have one thing in common: they are short. Films for the next generation will be shown at the same time as the international children's and youth short film festival KUKI.

The world is full of questions - let's find some answers. The conference Q BERLIN QUESTIONS is the platform for a creative exchange on the pressing questions of time. International thinkers present their ideas and discuss them in the creative environment of ewerk. At the same time, they will also enter the city with a fascinating glimpse behind the scenes of Berlin.

Tip 9: Design Börse

The Design Börse presents 120 years of design history, with the focus on the Mid-Century Modern of the 50s and 70s, which is currently enjoying great popularity. In addition, vintage furniture from the Bauhaus, trendy design from the 1960s and new experiments by today's designers make people dream of new home furnishings.

Tip 10: Pergamon Museum. The panoramaby artist Yadegar Asisi

The artist Yadegar Asisi presents his completely revised panorama "PERGAMON Masterpieces of the Ancient Metropolis and 360° Panorama of Yadegar Asisi" with highlights from the Collection of Classical Antiquities. The panorama is a journey back to the year 129 A.D. to the city of Pergamon, which thus comes to life again.

The first Christmas markets open their doors and officially herald the pre-Christmas season. The spectrum ranges from the traditional market to the urban market with original gift ideas.
