Foodspots of July 2016

Berlin not only has delicious food, you can also eat out in style. Every month we look for the best, the tastiest and the most exciting food spots for you.

1.PANAMA - Restaurant & Bar

Our first insider tip in July was the PANAMA – here, you’ll be treated to culinary delights Tuesday to Saturday from 5 pm. Located bang on Potsdamer Platz, its menu offers exotically delicious dishes like roasted crème d’aubergine with goat’s cheese and water melon or Duroc pork jowls served with white radish, sour rhubarb and quinoa.

2. Fine Bagels

Bagels are ideal for a quick snack between mealtimes. At Fine Bagels in the Shakespeare & Sons Bookstore on Warschauer Straße, you’re the one in charge of putting together your very own New York bagel from the type of dough to the toppings. How about a plum bagel or an onion bagel with chive cream?

3. Garden Café in the Prinzessinnengärten

The Prinzessinnengärten are always worth a visit. They are home to a rich diversity of plants and flowers. And best of all: anyone can join in as they’re an urban gardening project. Hungry from watering all those plants? The Garden Café is the perfect spot for a quick break. The café mainly uses the Prinzessinnengärten’s own produce or that of organic farmers.

4. Van Loon Restaurant Ships

Our fourth food spot of the month were the Van Loon Restaurant Ships, which serve a €7.50 lunchtime two-course meal either laid at anchor or out on open waters. Evening dinners are composed primarily of fish. A special highlight on offer are the event trips scheduled for various times of day – perhaps you’d fancy a boating brunch?

5. jones ice cream

No summer without ice cream! So naturally our last July food spot is Jones Ice Cream. Anyone into unusual ice cream should definitely check the place out and treat themselves to flavours like mulled wine, milk chocolate-and-pretzel or virgin mojito. And should it ever be too cold outdoors for ice cream, they also do delicious cookies.
