Berlin is a culinary hotspot. Whether traditional cuisine, international specialities or top restaurants - the food scene in the capital is as delicious as it is varied. Every month we go on a search for the most beautiful, delicious and extraordinary food spots in the city.

1. Nobelhart & Schmutzig

The restaurant, which has been awarded a Michelin star, cooks under the motto "brutally regional": all dishes are prepared exclusively with products from Berlin and the surrounding area, i.e. from Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Brandenburg and the Baltic Sea. The makers of von Nobelhart & Schmutzig only serve a 10-course menu with what nature has to offer at this time of year. Incompatibilities can be discussed in advance. In this stylish restaurant, the dining room and the kitchen are not separated, so you can learn a few tricks from the chefs. The dishes are reduced to selected basic tastes, but these are especially elaborated because, as Oscar Wilde already said: "I have very simple tastes. I'm always satisfied with the best".

Where: Nobelhart & Schmutzig, Friedrichstraße 218, Mitte
When: Tuesday - Saturday from 6.30 pm

2. Mine / Wine

Simple and noble, that is also the idea in the noble restaurant Mine / Wine in a side street of the Kurfürstendamm. The restaurant serves upscale Italian cuisine freely interpreted by the Russian chef and owner Mikhail Mnatsakanov.  In the casually chicly furnished restaurant with white-rolled brick walls and colourfully patterned tiles on the floor there is homemade pasta and delicious specialities. Even the bread is homemade sourdough. In the accompanying wine bar you can choose from the large wine list with selected biodynamic wines.

Where: Mine / Wine, Meineckestraße 10, Charlottenburg
When: Monday - Sunday 5:30pm - Midnight

The cool bar in the City West offers a sensational view of the Zoological Garden with the Monkey Rock. In the cosy bar on the 10th floor you sit on colourful cushions in front of the large panorama windows. And also the cocktails are excellent, after all, the Monkey Bar was voted the best hotel bar in Europe.
Waiting times are to be expected.

German cuisine, served in bits and pieces in a modern interpretation. The Restaurant PeterPaul serves classic German cuisine, but only in tapas sizes. So you can try your roulades, Königsberger Klopse and Sauerbraten together with fine side dishes. The elegant ambience with dimmed light matches the concept and is the perfect setting for a special evening. By the way, its name comes from the grandfather.

In addition there is a delicious Bloody Mary as a hangover killer.

doesn't smile on fotos. But in real life she enjoys with a smile in her face Berlin's rich cultural life - the metropolis both in front of and behind the scenes. Her favourite season is the Berlinale, then she spends 10 days watching movies and writing about them in the blog.
