Berlin is a culinary hotspot. Whether traditional cuisine, international specialities or top-notch restaurants, the capital's food scene is as delicious as it is varied. Every month we go in search of the city's most attractive, delicious and exceptional food spots for you.

1. Chinesisches Teehaus


A large portion of relaxation, peace and pure enjoyment await you in the traditional Chinese tea house in the gardens of the world. After an extensive walk along the beautiful theme gardens, watercourses and temples, you can make yourself comfortable in the tea house or on the large terrace. Try out more than 30 Chinese tar rarities. On warm days, the home-made cold tea also offers successful refreshment. It is also possible to participate in a traditional Chinese tea ceremony or tea tasting by appointment. At the event evenings with music and buffet you can finally immerse yourself completely in Chinese culture. The souvenir shop still offers a selection of traditional handicrafts as a souvenir.

2. Blumencafe in Schönhauser Allee

Whether you are looking for a few new houseplants or just want to enjoy a cup of coffee and cake, the Blumencafé in Schönhauser Allee is the perfect address. What a few years ago was a normal flower shop is today a small oasis for relaxation and good food. In addition to breakfast, the café also offers a wide selection of soups, quiches, cakes and ice cream - almost exclusively in organic quality. Of course, a large assortment of beautiful cut flowers, plants and cacti awaits you. Garden lovers can also seek advice on all aspects of design, care and decoration in the shop. The tropical feeling is underscored by the exotic cawing of the two parrots Charly and Arno flying through the café.

3. Yarok


For all fans of Syrian cuisine, the Yarok in Torstraße is an absolute must. Authentic Syrian specialities are guaranteed here, lovingly prepared from fresh ingredients. You can choose from several starters like couscous salad or chickpeas soup. In addition to beef, lamb and chicken dishes, there is a large selection of vegetarian dishes, which can also be served vegan on request. For those who like to try it out, the mix plate with halloumi cheese, grilled vegetables, couscous and falafel is particularly recommended. Also the drinks menu has some delicacies ready. For example, try the traditional Syrian Mate tea with honey or fresh ginger tea.

4. SpreeArche


An excursion to the SpreeArche is certainly a special experience. The floating log house is located at the mouth of Müggelspree and Müggelsee, in the middle of the water, and without fixed land connection. After the free crossing with our own raft you can enjoy the beautiful view on the sun terrace. Alternatively, the interiors with wooden panelling and adjoining bar offer a cosy atmosphere. The menu tempts with seasonal and regional delicacies such as hand-pickled salmon, smoked fish from the in-house smoke oven and home-made boulettes as well as vegetarian variations. If required, the SpreeArche can also be used for family celebrations or company parties.

5. Marheinekehalle

The choice of food can never be too varied for you? Then off to the Marheineke Markthalle in the Bergmannkiez! In the market hall you can feast to your heart's content. The traditional market hall is a lively meeting place in the Kreuzberg miners' district. Get an Asian snack, French Galettes or Greek Gyros Pita and finish your culinary journey around the world with an Arabic salad on toasted flatbread. A snack with Berlin specialities such as curry sausage is also represented in the market hall. For vegans and vegetarians there is the vegetarian vegan snack. If you fancy sweets, you can enjoy delicious cakes, banana bread or vegan waffles.
