Eat well in Berlin

A good meal is the icing on the cake at the end of a successful day, don´t you think? It is easy to get a bit overwhelmed with the wide variety of restaurants, which is why I will present you with my Top 10 restaurants for that special occasion.

1. Crackers

Crackers is my absolute favourite restaurant at the moment. The entrance, a large metal door, is not easy to find but once you are in, you cannot help but be amazed. After walking past the kitchen, you will enter a restaurant with a modern design. Of course the dishes themselves also leave nothing to be desired. My secret tip: The black risotto with a glass of Blackprint by Schneider.

2. Pantry

My favourite dishes in the Pantry are the “Artic Island Char” and the “Flat Iron Beef”. The food is so good, I could bathe in it! The stylish restaurant on Friedrichstraße offers a small but exquisite menu, a courteous and very friendly service and a great wine menu. Please bear in mind that only cash payments are possible.

3. Borchardt

VIP alert! There have been quite a few international celebrities sighted in the Borchardt. Why? It is here where you will find one of the best Schnitzel in the city. French-German cuisine with a modern twist is just waiting to be savoured.

4. Cordobar

Do you enjoy spending a lovely evening with a good glass of wine? Then you should go to Cordobar! Incredible wines and tasty dishes await you here! Willi Schlögl, the proprietor, was awarded wine waiter of the year in 2014 and thus one of the best points of contact when it comes to enjoying wine. Lukas Mraz conjures up extraordinary dishes in the kitchen - what about a black pudding pizza?

5. Bocca di Bacco

There is another very special restaurant for Italian-enthusiasts in the heart of Berlin. The Bocca di Bacco offers a modern interpretation of classics from Bella Italia! The Tuscan furnishing and the exclusive wine menu which features more than 250 fine wines, invite you to linger and enjoy.

6. Grill Royal

The flawless service at the Grill Royal remained vividly present in my memory. It was not only the staff, but also the tender steak and the sophisticated design of the restaurant which really appealed to me. Here you can spend a wonderfully warm evening on the terrace directly on the river Spree.

7. Nobelhart & Schmutzig

The main focus at Nobelhart & Schmutzig is the regional nature of the cuisine. Billy Wagner and his team do not serve à la carte but rather a 10-course menu instead. And this menu has a lot to offer: from B like black pudding and E like eel, each course has its own personal charm. With its 28 seats, flawless service and its stylish elegance, the restaurant received its first Michelin star after only nine months.

8. Sky Kitchen

At Andel´s hotel you will not only get to discover a fantastic view, but also an extraordinary combination of food. Alexander Koppe, Berlin´s youngest star cook, will spoil you at SkyKitchen. The exciting food concept which features dishes such as Particella with ginger ale marjoram and passion fruit, will make a strong impression with the amuse-bouche from the kitchen.

9. Das Lokal

The unpretentious and modern atmosphere at Das Lokal will win you over right from the start. The small, regularly changing menu features seasonal delicacies and the service staff are available to offer advice and support when selecting wines. What really stuck in my memory were the large portions - So you should definitely arrive with a good appetite!

10. Toca Rouge

My most recent discovery is the Toca Rouge. Here you can look forward to Chinese-Asian fusion cooking. The very small, darkly furnished restaurant offers you an exciting combination of food. What do you think about sweet beef with pear and courgette for example? Oh yes, and even the toilets are worth a visit :)
