Light shows all over the city
The city is lit up for the first half of October in every colour of the rainbow: the Festival of Lights and Berlin leuchtet turn the city into a brilliant sea of colour and light, even more so than is usually the case! Colourful lianas will intertwine around the Brandenburg Gate and red hearts will adorn Berlin Cathedral. Spectacular installations will showcase Berlin’s sights, squares, and entire streets, so be there when the whole city turns into a fascinating glittering metropolis.

Berlin Art Week
From 13 – 17 September, visit trade fairs, exhibitions, discussions, and events throughout the city as the art world gathers for Berlin Art Week in the German capital.
1917. Revolution – Russia and Europe
2017 marks the centenary of the Russian Revolution. The revolutionary events and the civil war that enveloped Russia until 1922 led to a fundamental change in systems that shaped the entire 20th century. A major exhibition at the Deutsches Historisches Museum opens 18 October 2017.
Reopening: Staatsoper Berlin
