Willy Brandt Forum
Willy Brandt Forum
The Willy Brandt Foundation commemorates the former German chancellor
Former German Chancellor Willy Brandt (1913 - 1992) has gone down in history as one of the most important statesmen of the 20th century. His words on the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989: “Now what belongs together will grow together” will never be forgotten.
The Forum Willy Brandt Show
The multimedia show is dedicated to Willy Brandt’s years as Governing Mayor of West Berlin, then as Foreign Minister of West Germany and finally as West German Chancellor in five modular sections. The documents on display in this show include his Nobel Peace Prize Award from 1971 and his correspondence with President Kennedy. The personal documents, family snapshots and private correspondence provide an insight into his private life.
Theme and overview tours through the permanent exhibition are available for groups with prior registration. Film and seminar rooms are also available for workshops. In addition, events on historical and current political issues are regularly held in the Forum Willy Brandt Berlin to accompany the permanent exhibition. Admittance to the exhibition and all events in the Forum is free of charge.
