Füchse Berlin
Füchse Berlin
The hunt is off
Indeed the Romans are supposed to have already played a kind of handball; and even from the Middle Ages, one knows embodiments of teams that threw a colourful cloth pouch back and forth. However, only in the past century did the sport become truly popular; and in Berlin, only first through the “Füchse” (foxes), the professional handball division of the sports club “Reinickendorfer Füchse”, who since the 2007-2008 season are playing in the 1. Liga.
The Berlin Füchse is therefore still quite a young club, which however already has many German and international National players in its squad. A large fan club deafeningly supports the team with timpani and trumpets at its home and away games. The home playing ground is the Max Schmeling Hall in Prenzlauer Berg. And when the Füchse run up in their purple and yellow jerseys—the hunt can begin.
