The worldwide first Computer Games Museum is back in Berlin. The museum already started successfully in 1997. It is dedicated to the „homo ludens digitalis“, the playing human in the digital age.

The museum re-opened in Berlin Friedrichshain with over 300 exhibits, including rare originals as the serially produced game Computer Space, playable classics like RaveSnake and art works from the game-art sector and interaction performances.

The permanent exhibition „Computerspiele. Evolution eines Mediums“ (Computergames. Evolution of a medium) illuminates the rich cultural games history and starts with the first electronic computer in Germany "Nimrod". The „Wall of Hardware" with about fifty „game machines“ explains the technical development from the "Brown Box“ (1968) to the "Xbox" (2001). Steadily changing special exhibitions with as well history of the games as current developements in the games culture are planned.
