BKA-Theater
BKA-Theater
Cabaret high above the roof tops of Kreuzberg
The fifth floor of an otherwise quite unremarkable apartment block on Mehringdamm is home to the BKA-Theater. Those, who manage to find their way here, are rewarded with panoramic views of Kreuzberg’s busy streets from the vantage point of the lounge bar, while waiting for the show to start.
The theatre itself offers comfortable armchairs for the audience, where the hardships of everyday life are soon forgotten in a cosy ambiance of candlelight and red velvet curtains. The BKA’s programme offers pearls of comedy, cabaret and chanson evenings on a nightly basis.
Many artists have become fixtures of the BKA stage, including the comedy troupe ‘Unter Niewo’, and the monthly ‘Best of’ series, featuring cabaret, music, theatre and variety shows under the motto ‘StageDiven!’ with moderator Bartuschka or Neukölln’s own artistic personality Edith Schröder alias Ades Zabel.
The weekly concert series for new and contemporary music ‘Unerhörte Musik’ (Unheard of Music) is just as much part of the permanent programme, as is the English language children’s theatre ‘Platypus’ with matinee shows for young audiences. And in addition to its busy event schedule, the BKA is also a venue for great parties, hosted here from time to time.
Tickets available at our Berlin Tourist Info at Hauptbahnhof, Brandenburg Gate and Neues Kranzler Eck
Please note that all performances are in German.
