From water lily to toadstool
The Botanical Museum in Berlin’s Dahlem district is absolutely unique in Central Europe, and is located alongside the Botanical Gardens. As a perfect addition to the Gardens, the museum offers plenty of in-depth information about the world of plants:
Permanent and specialist exhibitions are focused on botany, cultural history and the art of plants. They illustrate for example the structures of various plants, offer insight into the evolution of vegetation on Earth, and provide information about crop plants and psychoactive plants. Collections of ancient Egyptian burial objects and original herbarium specimens of Alexander von Humboldt are among the highlights of the museum. Visitors can combine their visit to the gardens and Museum for a well-rounded day out.
