Grand opening: The H’Otello K’80 at Savignyplatz.
The streets between Savignyplatz and Kufürstendamm are well known to strollers. Numerous stately buildings with magnificent façades, shining foyers, marble walls and golden cherubs. Just a minute though! A striking new hotel building has recently appeared in this prestigious neighbourhood – the H’Otello K’80, the Münchner H’Group’s first hotel in Berlin, a design-oriented business hotel not afraid of contrasts. The hotel is a purist’s paradise. Here understatement meets urbanity.
The typical Charlottenburg mixture
In one direction it’s only a few steps to Savignyplatz from the H’Othello. If you spend the evening in one of the numerous restaurants or bars, you’re likely to ask yourself what all the fuss is about with everybody talking about Berlin-Mitte. There are celebrities chatting in the Paris Bar, students in serious discussions in the Schwarzes Café (Black Café); this is where to see the Charlottenburg mixture at its best. And if you go in the opposite direction from the H’Othello, you’ll soon be on Kurfürstendamm, the absolute top shopping boulevard address in Berlin.
Plenty of interior light
A feature of the new H’Othello K’80 hotel is its central location in the heart of the western part of the city as well as its architecture – the minimalist elegance providing a striking façade, the timeless design and the clear statement made by the Berliner architects CollignonArchitektur. The playful alternation of transparent and opaque surfaces creates an inspiring living space to live and work in. The front sides of the roof terraces have floor-to-ceiling windows thus allowing plentiful light into the interior.
Hotel and restaurant separated by a library
The restaurant with its 50 seats and the bar are separated from the classical hotel area. The so-called Living Room – an extended lobby with access to the south-facing open spaces – ensures for an almost private atmosphere of well-being, as does the library with its open fireplace. Using their keycard, hotel guests can get from the library, which serves as a central connecting element, directly to the adjoining area containing the restaurant and bar. The whole of the interior design was created in collaboration with Yasemin Loher Interiors and seizes on the architects’ minimalist and creative elegance as well as the external presentation.
The city-centre location as a concept
Whether business traveller with a weakness for individuality or city tourist with an eye for trends: the H’Otello K’80 offers its guests the perfect ambience for a stay in Berlin. The top city-centre location is deliberately intended as a statement-making concept. The K’80 not only has ideal connections to the airport, station and fairs, it’s also perfectly situated for sightseeing, Shopping and Nightlife.
