The world is one giant theatre, and Berlin is one of its most beautiful stages. Large opera houses and show arenas lie next to small independent theatres, while traditional houses stand beside modern acting workshops. The many events in Berlin are so diverse, and their requirements for a suitable location are so varying, from the vast Arena to the large concert hall, from an open-air theatre to a small club cellar – every event here finds a fitting venue. Old factory buildings and modern lofts or even museums and a cloister ruin transform themselves into spectacular backdrops.

Chill out in a restaurant along the water

Located directly on the water, this romantic, relaxed and comfortable restaurant is decorated with wooden furniture, old lamps and ornate picture frames. Simply put, Freischwimmer is a cool location in Kreuzberg’s Flutgraben area. The restaurant is in a very old building that was once used for renting and repairing boats. The entrance is directly next to Berlin’s oldest gas station. You can sit outdoors during the summer and indoors during the winter.
