A dream come true
Walking through the Charlottenburg Palace’s extensive park is like a dream come true. The colourful Hohenzollern residence provides a magnificent setting for the beautiful baroque garden that unfurls in front of it. Regardless of the weather, this is a perfect place to relax, play and discover. In the summer, you can bask in the sun, picnic and play football on the park’s many lawns. There are also secluded nooks in the hedge areas that lie in front of the orangery. During snowy winters, kids can toboggan down the hill that’s in the back section of the park. A playground can also be found there.
The park’s classic highlights include the big carp pond, the spring and its fountain, the beautiful population of old trees and the flowerbeds. Other noteworthy attractions in the park include the mausoleum that honours Queen Louise, the belvedere and the Luiseninsel (“Louise Island”).
From the park, you can walk along the banks of the Spree River. One direction will take you to the Tiergarten, while the other will take you all the way out to the district of Ruhleben.
