A fine canteen for the art scene

The stairs by the River Spree lead straight into a world where you can watch people and be seen. In 2007, Stephan Landwehr, a picture frame manufacturer from the art scene, established a fine canteen. Shortly after opening, the Grill Royal became the meeting place for everyone who appreciated the chic, exclusive and creative atmosphere as well as the exquisite meat dishes on offer. About 2.2 tonnes of rump and fillet steaks that cost between 25 to 40 Euros for a 200 gram steak are grilled, sold and eaten every month. The meat is tender as the cattle are reared appropriately and slaughtered with as little stress as possible. But there are also steaks from Wagyu cattle that are massaged by hand in Japan as well as lobster, gurnard, sole and shrimp. The meat and fish are grilled on lava stones heated with a gas flame that ensure a constant amount of heat. For vegetarians, the choice is somewhat simpler. A salad with a whole head of lettuce and anchovy-mustard dressing!
