Deutsches Theater was closed for ten months for reconstruction and renovation. A sad time indeed until the beginning of 2009, when the red curtains opened again. The first piece that was staged after the renovation was "Dangerous Liaisons". In the theatre, the mirrored foyer has impressive columns and chandeliers while the large hall is simply breathtaking. This is a place where theatre has been presented for over 160 years. And this tradition can be felt.

Deutsches Theatre in Berlin works with top directors, brings young playwrights as well as established big names to the stage and has a strong ensemble with actors such as Corinna Harfouch, Nina Hoss or Ulrich Matthes. No question about it, Deutsche Theatre in Berlin is one of the most important stages in all of the German-speaking countries.
