Tour 5 - The green Berlin

Start the day with a charming bus trip ([1] bus 218 from U-Bahn Theodor-Heuss- Platz) through the Grunewald forest on the banks of Wannsee lake to Peacock Island. It’s worth stopping at [2] Grunewaldturm tower, which offers a spectacular view over the River Havel and environs. Bus 218 terminates directly at the ferry to [3] Peacock Island, part of a World Heritage Site.

Enjoy a stroll around this beautiful island and admire the many peacocks in the grounds, then enjoy a relaxing break at the [4] Wirtshaus zur Pfaueninsel before the journey back. From Wannsee, take the S-Bahn to ”Botanischer Garten”. The [5] Botanic Gardens, with around 22,000 species, is one the world’s leading and largest of its kind. Then surrounded by green, you can relax in the [6] “Café Lenné” in the former Berlin Royal Garden Academy palm house – the perfect end to a perfect day!
